At Orling and Wu, we are proud to support the designs and artwork of artists we carry.
Inspired by Darling Magazine - whom you can find on our shelves starting this month - We decided to feature select items from some of our favorite female designers.
There is beauty in everything and we are infinitely inspired by the work that our lady friends have worked so hard into creating.
Emmy Trinh, Foe and Dear, Carol Workinger
We love jewelry that are elegant, timeless with a touch of understated luxury. Every piece is handmade and one of a kind. Each of our designers have a unique story behind their work and it gives us great pleasure to be able to share them with you.
Molly is an mutli-disciplinary designed based in San Francisco. We love her collections of jewelry and home-wares based on conceptual integrity, material exploration and figuring out new ways to use her laser cutters. She is an inspiration indeed.
Made local in Vancouver - Heather is a graduate from Emily Carr with a background in Ceramics & Painting. Her ceramics are created out of a love for creating beautiful objects to be cherished and used in the home. We are greatly honored to carry her line of Dot Ceramics she has especially created for our store.
The philosophy behind loom is quality over quantity.
During a trip to Turkey, Mikala met some locals who were beginning to find, support and sustain the few small-scale communities still practicing traditional hand-looming. Once home, Mikala began Loom Towels with the idea to create the highest quality, natural towels that are made in a way that supports communities, sustains traditional craftsmanship and does not harm the environment.
Mikala travels to Turkey to design each limited edition range.
We hope these lady artists and designers inspire you to discover, to style and to create beauty.
As Darling says - "Women are not only interesting, but original, not only good enough, but exceptional - not just here, but HERE for a purpose."
