Trends come and go and can be really hard to relate to. What’s to follow? To find your own personal style in the great range of beautiful things can feel impossible. Thankfully, designers at Sandberg have put together a trend report to help you express your style freely.
Here are the four key themes of 2015 at Sandberg:
Nordical – The Nordical theme comes from an inspiration of nature and its ever changing seasons along with vast views of the Nordic landscape. The theme consists of shades of cool whites, dusty greys, pastels and soft graphite blending with natural materials of leather, wood and paper that age beautifully. The designs are gentle yet geometric. This award winning wallpaper design, Skymning, means 'dusk' in Swedish, captures the Nordic mood perfectly.
Botanical - The Botanical theme expresses our need to bring nature and vegetation into our homes. Today, we grow and cultivate indoors as well as outdoors. Urban gardening is an opportunity to create an oasis; an escape from our hectic lifestyle. An opportunity to take advantage of seasonal produce and to get our hands dirty; to grow, harvest and recycle. We seek out to nature and make healthier decisions to balance our busy lifestyle. Looking to bring the outside inside? Here are a few botanical wallpapers to take a look at - Raphael, Diana, Elizabeth.
Historical – The Historical theme is all about looking back to where we came from; celebrating the aesthetic and craftsmanship from the past. Inspired by retrospective TV series like Mr. Selfridge, Downton Abbey and Great Gatsby, but also looking at how we decorated our homes historically. Intense motifs coupled with solid raw materials like brass, copper and marble describe the formality of our past time. Grace is a perfect reflection of the ambiance the theme seeks.
Personal - Decorating with passion and expressing who you are. It’s creating your own style and taking time in doing so. Mixing design pieces with inherited artifacts or with something you have found by chance. Taking inspirations from your travels and memories is all that you need to create a meaningful narrative. The point is to create a home that is personal and of intimate value.
